Connect Claude Code

In Settings → Connections, select Claude Code, choose access and create a credential. Save the one-time credential and copy the exact Studio MCP endpoint. Keep any installation subdirectory in the URL.

Add the project configuration

Merge this server entry into the project’s .mcp.json file:

Replace the URL, but keep ${VOXELSITE_MCP_TOKEN} as a variable reference. Do not replace it with the credential. Claude Code supports environment-variable expansion in .mcp.json headers. See Anthropic’s configuration documentation.

Supply the credential

Before launching Claude Code, use a Bash or Zsh terminal:

Paste the credential at the hidden prompt. Approve the project MCP configuration when Claude Code asks. Keep the secret out of chat messages, source files and shared configuration. If you use a secret manager, it must make this variable available to the Claude Code process.

Check the connection

claude mcp list lists configured servers. In a Claude Code session, use /mcp to inspect them. Then ask:

Read the website and summarize its pages, design, and granted access. Suggest one useful draft improvement. Do not change or publish anything yet.

Return to Studio and choose Check result. Waiting means Studio has no recorded authenticated request for this credential yet. Check the environment, URL and client error before creating another credential.

Use Read the site for this initial request. Editing needs a separate grant; publishing needs Edit and publish. See Permissions.

These instructions describe Claude Code’s documented HTTP configuration. They are not a compatibility claim for every Claude client or subscription. Claude Code configuration is also distinct from adding a connector in another Claude product.
