Notes
Notes is a private scratchpad built into VoxelSite Studio. Use it to think through website copy, collect ideas, draft content, or outline sections — then send your writing straight to the AI chat or use it as a prompt.
Notes live inside the Studio, not as part of your website. They are for your planning process — the AI does not read them automatically. A "Personal & private" label appears below the Notes title to reinforce that notes are per-user and not shared.
Opening Notes
Click Notes in the top navigation bar. The view opens as a two-panel layout — note list on the left, editor on the right.
Notes uses a split-panel layout, so it requires a desktop or tablet screen. On mobile, the list and editor display as separate full-screen views with a back button for navigation.
Creating notes
Click the + button in the list header, or press Cmd+N (Ctrl+N on Windows). A new untitled note appears with the cursor ready in the body.
Editing
Each note has a title field and a body textarea. Start typing — your changes save automatically after a short pause. A brief "Saved" indicator appears in the toolbar when the note is written to the database.
Markdown preview
Click the eye icon in the toolbar (or press Cmd+Shift+P) to preview your note as rendered Markdown. The preview supports headings, bold, italic, lists, links, code blocks, and blockquotes. Click the eye icon again to return to editing.
Pinning
Pin important notes to the top of the list. Click the pin icon in the toolbar, or right-click a note and choose Pin/Unpin. Pinned notes always appear above unpinned notes, sorted by most recently updated. You can pin up to 5 notes.
Search
Type in the search field at the top of the list to filter notes instantly. Title matches rank above body matches. Results highlight the matching terms. Clear the search field to return to the full list.
Sending notes to the AI
Two ways to use your notes as AI input:
- Send to Chat — toolbar button or
Cmd+Shift+C. Navigates to the Chat panel and pre-fills the prompt with your note's title and body. The AI receives both and can act on the content immediately. - Use as Prompt — available in the right-click context menu. Pastes just the note body into the Chat prompt field, ready to send.
Both actions read your latest edits — even unsaved changes — so you always send what's on screen.
Context menu
Right-click any note in the list for quick actions:
- Pin / Unpin — toggle the note's pinned status
- Send to Chat — send the note content to Chat
- Use as Prompt — paste the note body into the prompt field
- Delete — move the note to trash
Deleting and restoring
Click the trash icon in the toolbar or choose Delete from the context menu. Deleted notes are soft-deleted — they move to a 30-day trash. After 30 days, they are permanently removed.
To see deleted notes, toggle the Show deleted switch at the bottom of the list. Deleted notes appear dimmed with a Restore button.
Resize
Drag the divider between the note list and editor to adjust the panel widths. Your preferred width is remembered across page navigations.

Permissions
Notes is available to Owner and Editor roles. Viewers do not have access — the Notes navigation item is hidden, and the API rejects Viewer requests with a 403 response.
Each user has their own private notes. Owner notes and Editor notes are separate and not visible to each other. There is no shared note space — notes are a personal scratchpad, not a team collaboration surface.
Demo mode
In demo mode, Notes shows 4 pre-populated sample notes. The editor is read-only — title and body fields cannot be edited, and destructive controls (delete, pin, new note) are hidden. You can still preview Markdown and send notes to Chat.
